A Screenshot of Kikuyu Constituency MP Kimani Ichung’wah emerged online bearing Nation Media Group’s Digital Branding.
On his Twitter verified Account, the MP dismissed the graphics as FAKE.
Our quick investigation revealed that the font type used are not those of Nation Online
INTENT:
The image was possibly created to politically injure the reputation of the politician allied to Kenya Kwanza Alliance and subsequently, perpetuate propaganda. Unsuspecting readers and social media users were awed by the photoshopped image as it depicted that the MP dismissed the nominated Kenya Kwanza Deputy President Mr. Rigathi Gachagua.
By the virtue of Mainstream Media’s prominence & command, political propagandists have gone ahead to fabricate cover pages of newspapers or screenshots of broadcasters including photoshopping headlines, Images, kickers etc.
