An old photograph of former president the late Daniel Moi with his children emerged on social media. Part of the caption states that one of the young children is a Rigathi Kiprono.
An analysis through reverse images search and Error Level Analysis indicated the image was fabricated to mislead. Reverse image revealed a handout of Moi family was released in April 2015 by Kenyan Facts with picture caption reading; President Moi, his wife Lena Bommet and children; from left, Jonathan Kipkemioi, Jennifer Chemutai, John Mark, Doris Chekorir, Gideon Kipsielei, Philip Kipchirchir and Raymond Kipruto.
The fabricated imaged bared a caption with Rigathi Gachagua.
Further analysis through Error Level Analysis on Forensically revealed that original image bared altered pixels and different colour scheme. The image was also flipped to conceal tampered image areas.

INTENT:
The image was fabricated for political propaganda to imply that Rigathi is Moi’s Biological son The photograph alterations was therefore probably to dismiss the campaign theme by claiming that the nominated presidential running mate is not a hustler himself but a child of a dynasty.
