Image of celebrated 100M athlete Ferdinand Omanyala’s has widely been circulated on social media with his Jersey branded ‘Kenya Kwanza’. Kenya Kwanza is a political alliance headed by William Ruto. It is composed of UDA, Amani National Congress, Ford Kenya and many other political parties for the 2022 Kenyan general election.
We carried out a reverse image search and established that the image was fabricated to imply that Omanya donned the jersey possibly in solidarity with Kenya Kwanza Alliance. Kenya heads for general elections polls 9th August 2022 and social media is awash with fake images purporting support or painting opponents in bad light.
