This image was virally shared on social media after a drone streaming Azimio la Umoja final campaign at Kasarani on Citizen TV August 6, 2022 was interrupted. Some people claimed an eagle captured the drone. We carried out an online search and established the claims were misleading.

BBC Reported; The eagle was undergoing training by Netherland police to take down drones in restricted areas. The project was however halted as drone technology advanced, with quick manoeuvres in speed and altitude.
“According to “Le Monde”, the police decided to put an end to their experiment, for lack of conclusive results. In fact, police have found that eagles trained to hunt drones have quickly been overtaken by technological innovation. Newer aircraft have become so fast and agile that they manage to evade raptors with sharp turns and changes in altitude.”
